Former Village of Pelham trustee Lisa Hill-Ries has thrown her support behind Russ Solomon, Kristen Burke, and Krystal Howell for the November 3 election. Hill-Ries outlined her endorsements in a letter to the editor published by the Pelham Examiner on October 27, 2026. She stated that serving on the Village Board requires more than attendance at meetings; it demands a deep understanding of municipal finances and collaborative work with fellow trustees.

Hill-Ries said she served alongside Solomon and valued his approach to village government. She described him as a thoughtful board member who asked important questions and considered the implications of decisions before voting. Hill-Ries noted that Solomon took his responsibilities seriously and worked to understand issues from multiple perspectives.

The former trustee cited Burke's current role on the Town Council as a key qualification. Hill-Ries said Burke possesses direct experience with local government and a professional background in law. She argued that this legal experience provides Burke with the perspective needed to handle the policy and legal issues inherent in local governance.

Hill-Ries pointed to Howell's current service as a Village trustee as evidence of her readiness. She said Howell already understands the village's departments and daily operational responsibilities. Hill-Ries added that Howell's background in accounting, project management, and financial services adds a practical dimension to the work of governing the village.

The letter emphasized that much of the board's work occurs away from the public eye. Hill-Ries listed budgets, contracts, infrastructure, and public safety as areas requiring trustees who dig into details. She stated that local government functions best when leaders bring kindness, intelligence, and respect to the table while making decisions with all residents in mind.

Hill-Ries concluded that she will vote for the three candidates on November 3. She described them as the right choices for Pelham and said she looks forward to casting her ballot. The letter was signed from her home at 274 Ancon Avenue.
