Julie Andrews was photographed running errands in the Hamptons on October 16. The 91-year-old actress appeared in Sag Harbor, where she has lived for several years to be near her daughter, Emma Walton Hamilton.
Witnesses described Andrews wearing a light purple raincoat, a white baseball cap, and rose-tinted sunglasses. She was seen moving through the wet weather without an umbrella. A vehicle stopped nearby, and Andrews accepted assistance from the passenger side before continuing her outing.
This sighting follows her public statement in August regarding a change in her professional focus. Andrews told The Hollywood Reporter that she is stepping back from on-screen roles after a career spanning nearly eight decades. She clarified that she is not fully retired, noting that her current work involves different tasks.
Andrews said her schedule now centers on literature and audio projects. She stated that she spends much of her time recording podcasts and voiceovers. Her vocal work includes narrating the “Jane Austen Stories” series for the Noiser podcast network. She also continues her role as Lady Whistledown in the Netflix series “Bridgerton.”
The actress celebrated her 91st birthday just weeks before her recent appearance. She and her daughter, a co-author, have collaborated on several books over the years. A documentary about Andrews is currently in production for Disney+ and is scheduled to premiere in 2027.
