Founders planning to scale their companies in Boston have a new date to mark: November 4. TechCrunch will host its Founder Summit 2026 at SoWa Power Station, offering attendees a full day of sessions on growth, fundraising, and leadership. The event is co-hosted with Fidelity Private Shares and features a lineup of 25 speakers from investors and operating companies.
The agenda moves beyond standard topics like fundraising and artificial intelligence. Sessions are designed to address the specific decisions early-stage companies must make before they have all the answers. The program covers finding customers, building teams, and sharpening pitches. It also includes discussions on developing founder leadership and scaling businesses both inside and outside traditional startup hubs.
Steve Fredette, president and co-founder of Toast, will anchor the Impact Stage. His session, titled "Building a Company That Keeps Reinventing Itself," will explore how a Boston startup evolved into a public company. The conversation will examine how a business evolves as market conditions and technology shift while staying aligned with its original mission.
Two investor-led sessions focus on the balance between growth and restraint. Kent Bennett of Bessemer Venture Partners will lead "Finding Product Market Fit Before You Scale." He will discuss the signals founders should look for before increasing headcount or spending. Rudina Seseri of Glasswing Ventures will address "When to Scale and When to Hit the Brakes," exploring when restraint protects a business.
The summit also highlights the local ecosystem. Chase Garbarino, CEO of HqO, will present "The Boston Founder Playbook." He will examine how to build and scale a company in Boston, focusing on talent, capital, and community outside the Bay Area. This session, along with the Toast talk, emphasizes that ambitious companies can be built locally without following Silicon Valley playbooks.
Practical skills will be tested in a live pitch competition. Dave Balter of True Ventures will lead a session on pitching, followed by "So You Think You Can Pitch?" on the Build Stage. Founders will present to a panel including Chirag Shah of Define Ventures and Simran Suri of Maveron. Other sessions include Hunter Worland of NEA on distribution advantages and Vineet Edupuganti of Cogent Security on building high-performance teams.
The day concludes with smaller roundtables and a closing reception presented by Fidelity Private Shares. TechCrunch is offering a 25% discount and a buy-one-get-one deal for registrations ahead of the event.
