The Milwaukee Brewers hold a 3-0 lead in the World Series after defeating the Tampa Bay Rays 10-1 on Monday night.

The win came from an offensive surge and a strong start from pitcher Robert Gasser. This gives the Brewers the chance to clinch the championship as early as Tuesday evening at 8 p.m. Eastern.

This is the first World Series appearance for Milwaukee since 1982. The team earned the National League pennant by sweeping the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NLCS. They won all four games of that series, with final scores of 2-1, 7-4, 6-2, and 6-4.

Tampa Bay reached the Fall Classic by beating the Cleveland Guardians in the ALCS. The Rays won the deciding Game 6 on Monday, October 19, by a score of 7-3. Junior Caminero hit a large home run in that game to secure the American League title. This is the franchise's third World Series appearance, following a loss to the Philadelphia Phillies in 2008 and a trip in 2020.

Neither the Brewers nor the Rays have ever won a World Series title. Consequently, one of these two teams will claim the championship for the first time in their respective histories regardless of the final score.

The series began with the Brewers winning Game 1 on Friday, October 23, by a score of 3-2. They followed that with a 5-4 victory in Game 2 on Saturday, October 24. Monday's 10-1 blowout extended their dominance, giving them a commanding 3-0 series lead.

If the series continues, Game 5 is scheduled for Wednesday, October 28, at 8 p.m. Eastern. Games 6 and 7, if necessary, will be played in Milwaukee on Friday, October 30, and Saturday, October 31, respectively. All games are broadcast on Fox, Fox Deportes, and fubo.

The Rays previously eliminated the New York Yankees in the ALDS, winning three games to none. The White Sox were eliminated by the Guardians in the ALDS, losing the series 3-2. In the National League, the Braves were eliminated by the Dodgers in the NLDS, and the Padres were eliminated by the Brewers in the NLDS, losing the series 2-1.
