A person wearing a hoodie and a mask broke into the Widowmaker brewery in Brighton early Sunday morning. The individual threw rocks at the establishment before shattering the front door located on North Beacon Street.
Bar manager Jack Foley described his reaction to finding the damage. He said he was "pretty bummed" because he woke up to texts and video clips from customers. Foley noted that he had to run over to begin the cleanup process. He added that he felt relieved because no cash was taken from the empty register.
The cleanup involved repairing the broken entrance. Foley stated that it has been a difficult month for the business. This incident marks the second time the brewery chain has experienced a break-in in recent weeks.
In October, a tractor trailer without a driver rolled out of control. The vehicle slammed into the store next door to the brewery's second location in Braintree.
Boston police are currently trying to identify the person responsible for the Sunday intrusion. They stated that two other businesses on North Beacon Street suffered vandalism during the same early morning hours.
Authorities are urging anyone with information or who recognizes the individual in the video to contact Boston police. Foley said that since nothing was stolen, he is focused on returning to business as usual.
