The Milwaukee Brewers won their first World Series championship on Tuesday by defeating the Tampa Bay Rays 4-1 at Tropicana Field.

Jacob Misiorowski secured the win by throwing five and two-thirds scoreless innings. The right-handed starter allowed only one hit and struck out two batters, with his fastest pitch reaching 101.3 mph. He left the game in the sixth inning due to an issue with his left leg. JoJo Romero, Abner Uribe, and Trevor Megill finished the game, holding the Rays to a single hit in the bottom of the ninth.

Cooper Pratt led the Brewers offense with a two-run single in the second inning and a sacrifice fly in the sixth. David Hamilton added a run-producing single in the fifth, and William Contreras hit a double with a runner on base in the sixth to extend the lead. Jackson Chourio recorded his 11th hit of the series for Milwaukee.

Pratt tied the World Series record for runs batted in by a rookie with seven. The previous mark was set by Gil McDougald in 1951. This performance capped a postseason run for the Wisconsin team that saw them overcome their rivals for the first time in franchise history.

The bullpen work by the three relievers was decisive in the late innings. Uribe, Romero, and Megill combined to suppress a late rally attempt by Tampa Bay, ensuring the Brewers held onto the narrow lead until the final out.
