Lamar Jackson will start for the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, ending a three-game absence caused by a high ankle sprain. The 4-3 Ravens travel to Orchard Park, New York, to face the 5-1 Buffalo Bills at 1 p.m. ET. This matchup serves as an immediate test of whether Jackson’s return can halt a two-game losing streak before Baltimore hosts the Jacksonville Jaguars on a short week.

The season has diverged based on the quarterback under center. During Jackson’s first four starts, the team finished 3-1. Since he went down, backup Tyler Huntley has led the offense to a 1-2 record, which includes losses to Cleveland and Cincinnati. According to NFL.com, Jackson completed 70.8% of his passes for 967 yards, six touchdowns, and one interception in his initial starts. Huntley completed 69.8% of his attempts for 727 yards, four touchdowns, and one interception in four appearances.

Jackson participated fully in practice all week and carried no injury designation on the final report. Coach Jesse Minter confirmed Friday that the team expected the quarterback to play. Jackson described the pain in his ankle as bearable and noted improved mobility. He previously told reporters the injury was improving, though the extent of his running in Buffalo will be the key indicator of his readiness.

The Ravens have a difficult history against this specific opponent. Jackson is 2-4 against Josh Allen and the Bills, including postseason play, which is tied for his second-worst record against any rival per NFL Research. Their last meeting was a 41-40 Buffalo victory in the 2025 season opener. The Bills are coming off a Week 7 bye and lead the AFC East. They have lost only once this season, a 29-26 home defeat to New England in Week 4.

Weather conditions in western New York should not impact the game. The National Weather Service forecast for Orchard Park indicates mostly sunny skies with a temperature near 67 degrees at kickoff. A light south wind of 6 mph and a 2% chance of rain are expected through the afternoon.

The broadcast will air on CBS in the Baltimore market on WJZ-TV. Ian Eagle will provide play-by-play commentary while Ross Tucker serves as the analyst. Evan Washburn will report from the sideline. Radio coverage is available on WBAL (1090 AM) and 98 Rock (97.9 FM) with Kyle Youmans and Rod Woodson. Spanish-language coverage is on WLZL El Zol 107.9 FM with David Andrade and Allen Gutierrez.

A win in Buffalo would return Baltimore to two games over .500. A loss would drop the team to .500 midway through the season. The Ravens are currently fourth in the AFC North. Following the Bills game, Baltimore hosts the Jaguars on Thursday, Nov. 5, at 8:15 p.m. The team then plays the Los Angeles Chargers at home on Monday, Nov. 16, at 8:15 p.m.
