Ringwood Pizza Shop Closes Indefinitely After Halloween Fire

Luigi's Pizza & Restaurant at 16 Skyline Lake Drive in Ringwood will remain closed indefinitely following a fire on Friday, Oct. 31. The restaurant cannot reopen until an inspector approves the premises, a process owners said could take several days.

The incident began during the Halloween rush when more than 40 pizzas were stacked on an oven. A small flame ignited in the back corner of the equipment. Employees did not notice the fire immediately because they were managing orders and deliveries.

Anthony Martinelli, who was assisting delivery drivers on the opposite side of the counter, spotted the flame. The restaurant credited his quick action with preventing the fire from spreading further. A Facebook post from the business noted that the fire might have gone unnoticed longer if Martinelli had not been in that position.

No injuries were reported, and the staff escaped safely. The restaurant stated the property sustained minimal damage. Responding police and firefighters attended the scene. Neighboring businesses also provided assistance during the shutdown.

Owners have not set a specific date for reopening. They thanked customers who contacted the shop or visited to check on the team. The business posted a message of gratitude to its followers, ending with the line, "Thank you guys for everything. Luigi’s forever."
