The Yashar party is challenging the government’s financial contingency plans by citing a figure of 150 billion shekels at risk.
Gadi Eisenkot, the party chairman and former IDF chief of staff, released a campaign video on X on Saturday. The ad responds to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s recent remarks. Netanyahu stated that Israel must prepare for an alternative economy due to international sanctions. Eisenkot framed these comments as an admission that the government has economically destroyed the country.
The video opens with the warning that all national money is at risk. It uses clips from a Channel 10 interview. In that interview, Netanyahu said Israel must prepare for an alternative economy. He specifically mentioned blockchain technology. He stated that digital finance would certainly form part of the plan. He added that he had already requested a plan to be prepared.
Eisenkot’s team labeled the proposed mechanism Bibicoin. The video argues that such a system would destroy Israel. It compares the potential outcome to the economies of North Korea and Iran. The ad claims the plan would end high-tech growth, healthcare, and security. It asks how the global high-tech industry could invest in Israeli companies if digital currency were the only method available. The video concludes with the line that the country must not let the prime minister burn through its savings.
In a separate post on X, Eisenkot addressed the issue in a personal tone. He wrote that Netanyahu admits his policy will lead to international isolation. He said the resulting sanctions would shake the economy and the market. He described the outcome as the collapse of national security.
Netanyahu’s economic contingency thinking is now a central point of political debate. Eisenkot is using the prime minister’s own words from the Channel 10 interview as the basis for his criticism. The Yashar party is positioning its platform against the current administration’s financial strategy. The exchange highlights the tension between the government’s sanctions preparation and the opposition’s economic concerns.
