The Class 6A high school football regular season in Minnesota concluded on Friday night, delivering a mix of dominant performances and late-game upsets across the state. While the broader landscape saw several key results, the East Metro region provided the night's most significant narrative regarding playoff positioning and program milestones.

Roseville emerged as the primary story, defeating Coon Rapids 24-14 to secure the Metro Maroon subdistrict title. This victory allowed the Raiders to finish the regular season with a 4-4 record, which stands as their best performance since 2017. Senior quarterback Chase Browning led the offensive effort, throwing for 162 yards and three touchdowns. Browning expressed relief and pride in the team's efforts, noting that the hard work was finally paying off.

In other subdistrict races, Centennial strengthened its playoff position by defeating Anoka 38-6. This result likely guarantees the Cougars the No. 3 seed in the Class 6A playoffs, positioning them as serious contenders for a deep run into November. Notably, Anoka was held to just six points, marking the first time this season the team had been kept out of double digits by an opponent.

Mounds View also claimed a subdistrict crown, taking sole possession of the Metro East title with a 22-16 victory over White Bear Lake. The game featured a dramatic final minute, as the Mustangs trailed by two points before quarterback Tanner Jude scored on a one-yard run with 65 seconds remaining. A successful two-point conversion extended the lead to six points, and a subsequent interception by Preston Johnson on the final possession sealed the win. The Mounds View defense limited White Bear Lake quarterback Wyatt Stachowiak to six completions on 24 attempts.

Individual performances also drove several outcomes in the region. Forest Lake running back Mack Jurkovich posted 245 rushing yards and two touchdowns in a 31-13 win over Stillwater. This performance locked up the No. 2 playoff seed for the Rangers and brought Jurkovich's regular season total to 1,600 rushing yards. The St. Thomas commit was widely regarded as the top individual performer of the night. Park junior receiver Manny Vargas also contributed significantly, scoring twice in an 18-10 win over Eastview, including a 75-yard punt return.

East Ridge concluded its season with a 42-31 victory over rival Woodbury, a result that likely reflects a campaign that did not meet initial expectations. Logan Tretter ran for two touchdowns, and Elias Mather added a late score on an interception return to put the game out of reach. Meanwhile, the most dramatic finish occurred in the south metro, where Lakeville South kicker Dylan Nelson kicked a 36-yard field goal with one second left. The strike gave the Cougars a 17-14 upset over Rosemount, a result that complicates the seeding picture for the Class 6A playoffs in that region.
