At least six people died during a series of mass shootings that took place across the United States over the Halloween weekend. Dozens of others were injured in the incidents, which occurred in nightlife districts in half a dozen cities.

Dallas recorded the deadliest toll. Police reported four deaths and 15 injuries in the Deep Ellum neighborhood, a hub for music and dining. The shootings happened over a span of approximately one hour and 15 minutes on Saturday night. Chief Daniel Comeaux said investigators are determining if the three separate incidents are connected. He noted that arrests have been made, though he did not specify the number of suspects or the charges filed. The department had increased its police presence in the area prior to the violence. No officers were hurt.

In Birmingham, Alabama, one person died and eight others were wounded in a shooting outside Legion Field. The incident occurred near vendors on Graymont Avenue shortly after the Magic City Classic football game. Chief Michael Pickett stated that most spectators had left the stadium property when the shots were fired. Spokesperson De’Rell Freeman said one person was detained and multiple weapons were secured. Nearly 70,000 fans attended the game, where Alabama A&M defeated Alabama State 31-28.

Newark, Delaware, saw six people shot near the University of Delaware campus late Saturday. All six victims were transported to hospitals, but their conditions were not updated as of Sunday afternoon. A stretch of Main Street remained closed for several hours following the incident. Video shared online showed people fleeing the scene.

In Bloomington, Illinois, a 19-year-old woman died and another woman was in critical condition following a shooting early Sunday near Illinois Wesleyan University. Six other people suffered non-life-threatening injuries. It was unclear if those six had gunshot wounds. The city is located about 135 miles southwest of Chicago.

Arkansas experienced two separate mass shootings. In a strip mall southwest of Little Rock, one man died and several others were injured early Sunday. Police did not provide an exact number of the injured. In Fayetteville, six people were hospitalized with gunshot wounds early Sunday. Police indicated that an altercation preceded the shooting, and no arrests had been made as of the latest release.

Two people were killed in separate attacks at Spirit Halloween stores on Friday. In Fairfield, California, a 31-year-old pregnant woman died in a targeted shooting inside a mall location. Six others were wounded. In Madison Heights, Michigan, a 21-year-old man was fatally shot at a store just north of Detroit. Another man was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries after being assaulted by bystanders during his arrest.
